Message in a Screen Door (continued)

Well, I completely missed last Tuesday, last Saturday, and THIS Tuesday. I’m failing pretty hard at deadlines, it seems — but hey! Comic! Woo! And it’s even got some shades of gray! (Also, I hope it’s clear enough that it’s Kizul saying that large blob of text in the last panel, and Spoon is the one saying, “Heh heh.”)

As I said before, I’m still currently writing the scripts for part 2 — and I won’t start drawing the comics until I’ve got the script finished. That’ll probably take a while, unfortunately — most likely months; possibly a year (but hopefully not).

Anyway — when Driving North Backwards returns, the art will be a little less sketchy-looking! :D At the very least, the lines will be smoother.

Additionally, I am attempting to get a new drawing tablet, because my old one sucks! :| Click the ‘Fold a crane’ button and help me out! :D

So — because I’m a lazy son-of-a-gun, the comic is, again, late. I’ll try and get it scanned in and finished up today (Wednesday). Many apologies for being late.

lol Delays

Due to unfortunate delays, the comic will not update until this next Tuesday.

To make it up to you, I shall update the Tuesday after as well, like I would have anyway! :D

The reason for this is because I got a bit side-tracked by doing scripts for the the next story segment. Speaking of which, after the next two updates, I’ll probably not be updating again until the scripts for Story Arc #2 are fully finished. Just a little bit of warning there. :)

Happy one-year-and-a-few-months anniversary and ten-strip milestone, D.N.B.!

Yep. I started this comic near the end of February of last year, and (after many delays) have FINALLY managed to get to the tenth strip.

W00t — go me!

Technically, the absolute first strip has nothing to do with the ones following, so this one feels more like only the ninth strip to me — but oh well.

Also, there’s not going to be an update for a while because I’ve gotten tired of only updating ‘monthly . . . -ish!’ I’m going to attempt to build up a back-log of comics for now. Unfortunately, I only have the next two pages scripted, so there may be no updates THIS month, either.

But on the up side, there will be multiple updates in May! June! (at the latest — I hope — rather than at the earliest.)

So, um, yeah. I’m gonna get to work on those scripts now — we will return in May! June! (I hope.)

Edit 1: HURR-DURR; it’s already May — I had totally meant June.
My bad, people. ^^;

Unannounced downtime, woo!

Many apologies for the unannounced downtime late last night/this evening. WordPress was bugging me to update, and I also managed to prove to Mr. Frumph — the author of the ComicPress theme for WordPress — that avatars were broken in ComicPress’ latest version; he released a patch for it, and I wanted to get it implemented A.S.A.P.

Also, sorry for having the downtime last a half-hour longer than it was supposed to. Right at 18:00, EVERYTHING suddenly became busy on the server, so the FTP wouldn’t let me log in.

Anyway, enjoy the slightly-better-looking Driving North Backwards site! Clicking the header will bring you back to the main page, there’s a Favicon now, and Comments Thread avatars finally work! :D

The only down side to this update is, Mr. Frumph removed the “Search Transcripts” widget — so now you can’t search the comics. :(

More delays.

So, a little background here: I have a laptop and a PC.

The laptop’s screen broke a while back, so I’m using a monitor on it. The PC, which I bought rather recently, didn’t come with a monitor.

I happen to have four other monitors (3 CRT and 1 LCD), but none of them came with video cables.

I bought a video cable off of eBay, and it took over a MONTH to arrive. When it did arrive, I noticed that some of the pins in one of the connectors were pushed back into the connector itself.

Id est, the cable was broken, so I was (and, currently, still am) unable to use a monitor on my PC and still have a monitor attached to my laptop.

So, for all of you wondering, “Where is the comic? It’s been a month since the last one!” — just give me another week. D: Even if I have to put up a stick-figure placeholder or a sketchy version of the comic, THERE WILL BE ONE! :|
